Jonathan Hultén is not a newcomer to the world of music. Talented composer, guitar player and singer, he launched his acoustic solo project with the release of a debut single, Nightly Sun, las year.
Jonathan is a wanderer of the dark side. Member of bands like Tribulation or Stench, his creative endeavours are almost endless (did we say that he is a cult-illustrator too?). So we are glad to bring you today the video of his new song, ‘Anguished are the young’, (with the collaboration of our dear friend Viveka Goyanes, who you will surely remember from this collaboration project with the Decimononic crew: ‘Amoelbarroco, Decimononic and… fortune-telling?’).
Sit back, relax and enjoy:
Darkher is the alias of Jayn H. Wissenberg, a West Yorkshire-based singer-songwriter. Let us quote Metal Temple in order to introduce you to Darkher:
‘Her work weaves Gothic themes and eery atmosphere around a base of dark ambiance. It is hard to pick out individual notions between the mix of entrancement, sadness, introspection and soul-searching curiosity that washes over you’.
‘Ghosts tears’ is the first track of her first ep, ‘The Kingdom Field’. Singular music, isn’t it?
The Circuncelion project began with Igor Mesmer in the spring of 2004, as a side project to his band Addiction. This Basque artist wanted to distance himself from the more conventional musical lenguange in order to develop what he called ‘sound visions’. Eschara was the result, a conceptual work based on his own impression arising from a number of images and testimonies from the Spanish civil war, forming a work of 9 instrumental symphonic arrangements.
Circuncelion’s second album, Carved In Waters, was released in 2010 featuring not only Igor, but also artist and classical pianist Romina Perez. Begotten Forgotten, the third album of the band, is a true masterpiece. 46 minutes of enchanment, melancholy and haunting beauty. ‘To one dead’ is just one example of this, demonstrating that Circuncelion’s music is comparable to the compositions of many of the most prestigious darkwave and ethereal groups.
Aghast Manor is a discontinued project of Andrea Haugen, a German singer and musician very recognised in the European underground music scene. She was married to Tomas Haugen, a multi-instrumentalist well known in the Norwegian black metal scene, and became popular due to the success of her collaboration with Tania Stene: the dark ambient project Aghast.
Andrea is responsible for the music of Hagalaz’ Runedance, a project she dedicated to the pagan spirituality of Northern Europe. Since 2003 she releases all her music under her artist name of Nebelhexë. She also writes filmscripts since then, both horror and satire (and her music has been included in several soundtracks).
Aghast Manor was a side project with two full-lenght albums: Gaslights and Penetrate (the theme ‘Fear’was the penultime song of the first one).
Sit back and relax. As we always say, beauty may be found in unexpected places…
