1.- Who is Sheguang Hu?
Sheguang Hu is a Mongolian-born fashion designer who moved from China to the Netherlands at the age of 16. He graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie for Fine Arts and Design and has been designing clothes for numerous Dutch and Chinese figures since then. His first fashion store was opened in Amsterdam some years ago.
Having showed during Amsterdan and Hong Kong Fashion week, he presented a fascinating collection at Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week 2012. In this blog post we would like to draw your attention to the challenging haute couture collection presented by this artist at Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week S/S 2014 in Beijing under the theme “sting”.
Let’s listen to the artist words:
‘Modern life has become tasteless. Despite material abundance people’s souls are empty. People are infected with “numbness”: they feel no happiness, and no pain… like zombies. We need strong feelings even if it is piercing pain. The pain wakes us up from the numbness, forces to feel the taste of life again and pursue the lost dreams. So please open your soul to feel the “stinging” pain!’
