Nearly four decades before Victorian séances were flooded by Ouija boards, Spiritualists used planchettes (from French ‘little plank’) to communicate with spirits. Normally planchettes were heart-shaped flat pieces of wood equipped with two wheeled castors and a pencil-holding aperture, used to facilitate automatic writing. These devices evolved into non-writing pointing devices for talking boards, dictating messages spelled out by the board’s indicated letters and numbers. This exquisite collection of sterling silver planchettes, including very limited editions, is our humble tribute to 19th century Spiritualism. Exclusive objects of desire for collectors all over the world, Decimononic’s planchettes can be exhibited, weared or kept for its original use… in any case they will always be a source of delight for its fortunate owner.
