1.- About the workshop
The opening of the temporary exhibition Steampunk: futures that never where at MIBA in November 2012, including our attendance to the round table ‘Creation and Art in Steampunk’, gave us the perfect excuse to visit again a charming city as Barcelona. As if this was not enough, we seized the opportunity to visit the amazing photo studio of 274km and the showroom of El Costurero Real located in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, when Rebeca Saray was giving one of her renowned photography workshops.
The truth is that working with such a professional team, even for a short time, is an awesome experience. We would like to share with you some photos and an spectacular making-of video that will keep you open-mouthed!
We have been big die-hard fans of El Costurero Real (which means The Royal Tailor) since the very first tme we discovered it. As probably most of you know already, El Costurero Real is the entrepreneurial project of the charming María de los Ángeles Guisado Ruiz, better known as Alassie. She is a professional seamtress that has been able to develop an awarded styling and fashion design company in a few years (El Costurero Real was created in 2008). Her atelier designs medieval and bridal fashion and delivers an exhaustive portfolio of services addressed to fulfill the needs of the audiovisual industry (cinema, opera, theater, etc.).
We have had the opportunity to collaborate with El Costurero Real thanks to the II Photo Marathon organized by this company on 29th April; fortunately Steampunk was among the foreseen stylings and we contributed providing some of our fine jewelry pieces. This is just a small selection of the gorgeus pictures taken by Gala Martínez, partner of the professional photo studio 274km.
