Steampunk Chronicle is known worldwide for offering a global and multidisciplinar approach to Steampunk, covering the latest news in fields such as fashion, media, modding and events worldwide.
As foreseen, the list of nominees to the Steampunk Chronicle Reader’s Choice Awards was announced yesterday and, much to our delight, our Sky Captain Series of Steampunk-inspired fine jewelry for discerning gentlemen has been nominated Best Non-goggle Accessory under the Crafting category.
This gives us the perfect excuse to encourage the Steampunk Chronicle’s team to launch a ‘Steampunk Jewelry’ category, not in vain jewelry creation is amongst the most popular artistic disciplines from the origin of mankind; therefore, subcategories such as ‘Best jeweler’, ‘Best jewelry collection’ and/or ‘Best jewelry piece’ would be totally relevant.
This nomination is an outstanding recognition to our Sky Captain Series, already selected to be part of the exhibition ‘Steampunk: futures that never were’ at MIBA, Museu d’Idees i Invents de Barcelona (‘Museum of Ideas and Inventions of Barcelona’ in English) -November 2012 to May 2013-. Hopefully we will be sharing with you breaking news regarding a new exposition very soon, but… all in good time.
If we said we do not care about winning, we would lie through our teeth. Come on, everybody loves victory! However, the fact that our jewelry has been nominated is an enormous recognition for itself and, honestly, we feel as surprised as flattered.
We want to congratulate the nominees and thank the readers, writers, and editors of Steampunk Chronicle for this distinction. This said, if you think that our Sky Captain Series deserves your vote, go for it! Register, log in and let your voice be heard before 12th April. You can do it throught this link ‘Readers Choice Awards Voting is now open!’ or clicking on the image below. It’s time to vote!
